Standing In His Presence
Acrylic on Canvas 36" x 48" Hosea 6:1, 2 As I began painting, the music began with fire imagery, the fire of an impassioned heart. So the colors I laid down were dripping with yellow with frenetic strokes of orange and red dancing like fire. After awhile, the image of an upturned face lost in contemplation appeared with contrastingly dark shadows of purple, brown and blue. I paused to get a photo of the image here, because I knew it would change. The music brought in colors of green and blue and the figure reflected that soothing tone. The figure appears to be unaware of self and lost in the presence of God. The whole process of the painting cycled from the fire of pain and injury through to healing and restoration. This painting has within it the idea of God allowing suffering as a backdrop against which healing occurs. The image renders contentment somewhere in this process… standing in His presence.
