One phrase that kept coming to me, as Kris MacQueen was playing, was the idea of voicing what God is saying, or finding one’s voice for God. The image of the sword has often been associated with the spoken word of God, that when God’s word comes and is acted upon, there is a decisive impact. So I placed a figure amidst this swirl of acutely vibrant colours. The sword thrusts into the darkness. The figure’s mouth is open with a shout, as though speaking forth God’s word. A white envelope surrounds the figure as God’s presence protects and empowers his Word to go forth.
