The one theme that proliferated this worship time was ‘light bursting forth and darkness receding’. The drums and base, which were playing right be side me, inter-played with the rhythm of my brush strokes and colour choice. Everything was emerging from this burst of fire and beating wings against the backdrop of a receding night. The eagle’s head and talons took shape at the apex of this light bursting forth. One song that seemed to encapsulate the image had the recurring phrase, “light overcomes the shadows”. It sounds to me like a clarion call to be centred on the purity of God’s light once again in all areas of life.
