I Am a Child of God
I Am a Child of God

Acrylic on Canvas 48"x36" - Edmonton - 2018] -

[Galatians 4:7] -
As worship began, with Terry Harsch leading, I used cool colours that set the background that would become a forest. The forest emerged around a figure gazing longingly upwards into the night sky… searching. The gesture of the figure suggests the question, ‘Where are you God?’ or ‘What is my purpose?’ The stark shadows of the trees place these questions in the context of fear, loneliness, rejection, or having lost everything. But also, like a psalm, there is a hint of hope. Gentle moonlight finds an upturned face, as God’s Spirit touches heart and soul.
